About Our Approach

When engaging us to conduct a search, we like to get to know the client organization as thoroughly as possibile.  To that end, we prefer to conduct an initial on-site meeting.  Clear communication with decision makers help us gain a clear understanding of your business and internal culture.  SSP Search Consultants offer partnerships to clients who wish to attract the finest talent.

In actually conducting the search assignment, we utilize a variety of sources to identify, screen and locate highly qualified candidates for the position.  Our approach is very hands-on; that is, the individual from our firm assigned to conduct the search is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the search directly with the client organization.  Any support staff that we might use to assist in the process are behind the scenes as far as the client organization is concerned.  The assigned Search Consultant is the Lead on the assignment and, therefore, is responsible for everything that happens during the search.  Before starting the engagement, we introduce the Search Consultant to the client organization to ensure compatibility.

Depending upon the parameters of the search, sources of identifying qualified candidates might include:

  • Networking with professional associations
  • One-on-one networking with former clients
  • Targeting specific individuals of interest
  • Contacting educational institutions in the field
  • Direct solicitations of other employers in the field

Our goal is to use whatever resources ethically available to ensure that the best available candidates are screened, interviewed, referenced and presented to the client organization on a timely basis.  The client is notified immediately if there are any difficulties in locating the caliber of individual desired.

Throughout the process, feedback reports are given to the client organization regarding progress status being made on the search.  Such reports are made in writing, verbally or both as preferred  by the client organization.

When engaging us to perform search activities, SSP Search Solutions offer the following deliverables:

  1. Candidate screening via phone
  2. Candidate screening via in person
  3. Thorough reference checking on selected candidates
  4. Coordination of criminal background checks for selected candidates (if appropriate and desired by the client organization)
  5. Coordination of credit background checks for selected candidates (if appropriate and desired by the client organization)
  6. Comprehensive behavioral assessments (if appropriate and desired by the client organization)
  7. Scheduling of all interviews for client
  8. Preparation of written summaries of candidates to be presented to hiring manager
  9. Provide interview training and counsel as necessary
  10. Professional counsel with hiring department personnel on hiring salary and related issues (i.e., bonus plans, recruitment incentives, marketplace comparative data, benefits issues, etc.)
  11. Extension of offers and/or negotiation strategies to finalize the selection process
  12. Coordinaton of relocation activities (if appropriate and desired by the client organization)
